My vision
I am fascinated by how words can shape and influence thinking, how they can be used to inspire action, how they can produce change.
Translating copy into another language allows the exchange of ideas and information across a broader audience of minds, spreads creativity and facilitates problem-solving on a wider scale. And by accessing ideas from another culture, we can learn from each other’s diversity in many fields.
So for me translating is not just a trade, but a way of improving things, and that is why I enjoy working with innovative companies that are committed to making a difference.
My story
I have a multilingual and multicultural background. I am originally from Italy and Italian is my mother tongue. I also lived in the UK for 15 years and today I live in France, next to the Italian border.
I have been a full-time translator since 2010 and I am a member of the UK Chartered Institute of Linguists, of which I follow the professional code of conduct and translation industry updates.
Prior to my freelance career, I worked as an administrative officer at Defra, the UK Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs responsible for protecting the environment, growing a green economy and supporting the food, farming and fishing industries.
Studying both in Italy and the UK, I earned a BA in Translation and Interpreting and an MA in Audiovisual Translation, while also taking classes in ballet and jazz dance.
When I am not translating, I update my CPD with professional training and I study online for a degree in psychology.
